Ornella De Zordo spiega l'azione-performance che vedrà Saverio Tommasi rinchiuso per tre giorni in una piccola gabbia di metri 1,70 X 1,20 per protestare contro la possibilità di costruzione di un Centro di Permanenza Temporaneo in Toscana, in particolare a Firenze. La gabbia sarà posta sopra un furgoncino nel Piazzale Michelangelo a Firenze, piazza storica che guarda l'intera Firenze, sede del David di Michelangelo (in copia, per colpa dell'inquinamento).

In a "cage" to say "No CPTs (Temporary Detention Centers - Centri di Permanenza Temporanea) in Florence"
The city administration of Florence is considering the possibility of
constructing, in Tuscany also, a Temporary Detention Center (CPT).
For this reason, we have decided to pen ourselves in, surround ourselves
with a metal fence and barbed wire, symbolizing the undermining of the
"right to a dignified life." Indeed, we believe that it is an offense
against international law to detain people when they have not committed a crime.
The Western world instigates war and starves people with its unjust
management of the resources of the planet. It is natural that people
escape, emigrate, and ask for a share of the wealth that very few
privileged individuals enjoy.
It is impossible, moreover, to enter Italy in a "regular" manner.
Men and women are asked to show that they already have a job.
If you cannot demonstrate this, you do not enter, and if you do enter,
you are expelled through the channel of inhuman detention at a CPT.
At a time when politics no longer responds to people's needs, putting
yourself physically at risk is not a choice but a necessity.
We say NO to a CPT in Florence.
We say YES to policies of reception and integration, YES to citizens' rights,
YES to a dignified life free of the politics of war and repression.
